Artie N. Edwards
Mrs. Artie N. Edwards, 72, Rt. 2, Elizabethton, died Friday, November 2, 1990, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a sudden illness.
A native of Clintwood, Va., she was a daughter of the late Noah and Sara French Rose and had lived in Elizabethton since 1937. Mrs. Edwards was a member of the Apostolic Christian Chrch, Jahnson City. She was preceded in death by a son, William G. Edwards.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse James Edwards of the home; four sons, Jesse E. "Bud" Edwards of Morristown, Andy Edwards, Norman Edwards and Jerry Edwards, all of Elizabethton; six daughters, Mrs. Fern Atkins of Michigan, Mrs. Effie Peterson, Mrs. Louise Nangle and Mrs. Brenda Hopson, all of Elizabethton, Miss Ellen Edwards of the home, and Mrs. Sue Clarke of Johnson City; a sister, Mrs. Barbara Calhoun of Elizabethton; and a brother, Gobel Rose of Clintwood, Va. Fifteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.

EDWARDS - Graveside servies and interment for Mrs. Artie N. Edwards, 72, Rt. 2, Elizabethton, will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday in Monte Vista Burial Park with REV. Edward Davis officiating. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Carter County Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p. m. Saturday at the funeral home Friends may call at the residence any time. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
