Kenneth Churchill, 67 of Deford, died Saturday. He had been in ill health the past two years. He was born April 16, 1908 in Detroit., son of the late Warren and Maude Milton Churchill. He came to the Deford area as a young boy. He married Caroline McRobbie, Nov. 15, 1935. She died March 14, 1946. He married Phyllis Boag Caister in Decker Dec. 16, 1946. He was a retired radio and television repairman and worked at Cass City Oil and Gas and Thumb Appliance Center. He was a member of the American Radio Relay League and M.A.R.S. He was the first president of the Cass City Gun Club and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He also attended the Deford Methodist Church. He is survived by his widow; three sons, Vernon (Gayle) Churchill of Elberon, N.J., Charles (Kathy) Churchill of Burlington, Ont., and Dale (Patricia) Churchill of Deford; two daughters, Mrs Ann (Gordon) Smith of Caro, Mrs Carol (Daniel) Swalwell of Clarkston, MI.; two brothers, Harold of Mancelona, MI. and Ralph of Lawrence KS.; nine grandchildren. One step-daughter, Janice Leach and one sister, Olive Elder, preceded him in death. Funeral services were scheduled Tuesday from the Little's Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Hurley, pastor of the Deford United Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the Novesta Township cemetery.
