Louisa J (Robinson) Alley, was born 10 Aug 1844 (according to her death certificate, her gravestone states born 1841), in Mount Desert, Hancock, Maine. She was the daughter of Joseph Robinson and Lydia (Tinker) Robinson. She married Reuben L Alley, Sr in 1864. Together they had 12 children (5 children did not live longer than 1 year, or were stillborn). The surviving children were: Ephraim, Edmund N, Jeremiah Beal (m. Eliza Evelyn Drisko), Hiram Curtis (m. Addie Emerline Beal), Leonard Jerome (m. Charlotte M Alley), Reuben L, Jr (m. Mary Olive Stover), and Jerome Warren Alley. Ephraim was lost at sea at 18, Edmund drowned at 14, Jerome died suddenly at 34 of cardiac arrest and was unmarried.
