**It is not known for certain where Thomas C Allen is buried (or that Calvin was actually his middle name, as stated in Lucy's widow's pension application, that may be a confusion with his father-in-law William Calvin Clark who was also a Civil War veteran from KY!). I have found census records to suggest his middle name may actually have been George. Notes in the widow's pension file of Fanny Clark Allen indicate that witnesses stated he was mysteriously murdured in Paragould, Greene County, Arkansas, but that his home was in Kentucky at the time of his death in 1899. It is not known what he was doing in Arkansas if in fact he went there, but Paragould was a major railroad town and commerce center at the turn of the century. No headstone has been found for him. It is not known whether his body was brought back to Kentucky. Legend/ oral history that he was from a wealthy Mississippi family of Allens is also unproved.
