OBITUARY:
Lucius L. Sheffield was born in Wisconsin, December 25, 1849 and died in Oklahoma, November 17, 1919, aged 69 years, 10 months and 22 days. When about seventeen years old he was his father's family moved to Iowa. In 1878 he was married to Helen Anderson of Wisconsin. To them were born two daughters, Blanche, now Mrs. C.A. Burwell of Fairview, and Lovilla, who died near Fairview in 1908. In 1884 with his family, he moved to South Dakota, where his wife died in 1885.
In 1887 he was married to Priscilla Robinson of Kansas. To them were born three sons and two daughters. In 1900 the family moved to the vicinity of Fairview, Oklahoma, where most of the family now have homes. In early manhood he was baptized and united with the Seventh Day Church of God and unto his death remained in the faith of the return of the Lord to reign on the earth.
He was a strong man physically until recently his health and strength failed him and he died of a combination of pneumonia and heart failure after only a few days of severe sickness. He is survived by his wife and six children all of whom were present at the funeral services, conducted by Bro. E. M. Adair at the family residence six miles west of Fairview, Wednesday, November 19. Burial was made in the Roscoe cemetery.
