Antony John Butkovich, 79, died January 31, 2000 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born March 25, 1920 in Blelal(sic?), Yugoslavia (Croatia) to Joseph Peter Butkovich and Matilda Krumpltic. He was an All-State football player at Jordan High School. He worked at Kennecott Copper and then serviced in the US Army during World War II for over five years. He believed in God, Catholicism and honesty, and was a loving and caring man.
Survived by brother, Michael (Xene) Butkovich, Sandy; sister, Dorothy (Kent) Hansen, Draper; four nieces and three nephews. Preceded in death by two sisters.
Funeral Mass will be Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9757 South 1700 East, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church or the American Diabetes Foundation.
