"Aggie"
Agnes Virginia Osborne Beckstead, age 81, left the pain and worries of this life behind on May 26, 2003 of causes incident to age and complications of Parkinsons Disease.
"Aggie", as she was affectionately known, was born on July 16, 1921 in Kamas, Idaho to Benjamin Walter Osborne and Mary Jane Whale. She married DeLos S. Beckstead in August 1940. From their marriage of 39 1/2 years, they had four children and were later divorced. Aggie was a school lunchroom worker and lunchroom manager for over 20 years in the Jordan School District at Sandy Elementary. She also very proudly served as a school crossing guard for the Sandy City Police Department for over 25 years where she earned many recognition's from the police department and Edgemont Elementary.
Aggie is survived by three daughters and one son: Dorene (Peter) Foss, Wayne (Sharon) Beckstead, Diana (Jerry) Jensen, Penny (Kurt) Falkner; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and one great, great, granddaughter; a loving and compassionate granddaughter-in- law, Rosalyn Falkner; a loving ex-daughter-in-law who was always thought of more as a daughter, Pat; her special friend and companion for the past 23 years, Karl Faddis; sisters, Alice Gallegos, Edna Korab; brother, Henry Osborne. and the many special children that she cared and looked out for in her years as a lunchroom worker and crossing guard. Preceded in death by sisters, Dora Pedersen, Betty Johnson, and Myrtle Osborne.
Special thanks to Life Care Center of Bountiful and their staff for the care they gave Mom and the support they gave her family. We wish to extend a special thank you to Vi Graham from Life Care for your love, support, understanding and your many hours of being the glue that held things together. You always gave us hope, a shoulder to cry on and were a guiding light when we had nowhere else to turn. Also a special thank you to Kelly, Tammy, Katherine and Tracy; and Dr. E. Dennis Genebach and his staff at IHC Senior Clinic at Cottonwood. Thank you for taking the time to understand and just for being there for Mom.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 31, 2003, at 1 p.m. in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. or Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to offset funeral expenses can be made to Penny Falkner in care of Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State St., Midvale, Utah 84047 or any First National Bank in the name of Agnes Beckstead.
