Forest A. Bickel
1920-2010

Forest A. Bickel, 90, of Goshen, died Tuesday evening, March 30, 2010, at Courtyard Healthcare where he had been a resident since July 2007.

He was born on January 30, 1920, in Goshen, to Adam and Eva Edith (Klingerman) Bickel. He married Nellie Dystra in Goshen on February 29, 1952. She preceded him in death on June 1, 2006.

A lifetime area resident, Mr. Bickel was a heavy equipment operator for D.J. Construction from 1966 to 1985.

Mr. Bickel served with the US Army during World War II and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Fish Lake.

Mr. Bickel is survived by a sister, Geneva (Vernon) Spiecher of Goshen; and two brothers, Edward C. "John" Bickel of Goshen and Ellsworth Bickel of Millersburg.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Van Ness and Orethe Stiffler; and two brothers, Harold and Charles Bickel.

Friends may call 9 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 6 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Family and friends will go in procession at 11:00 a.m., to Forest Grove Cemetery, Middlebury, where a graveside service with military honors will be conducted. Pastor Burt Pauluhn of St. John's Lutheran Church will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the church.
