She married James (Jay) Rufus Yates September 29, 1909 in Lawrence County, Ohio. They had four children, Clarence Raymond, Marion Cullen, Aileen, and Gordon Yates. Jay's sister Anna married Willa's brother John.
Willa died of malignancy of the breast
