73 of Vandalia, passed away at Good Sam Hospital September 21, 2009. She was born in Winchester, Ky, daughter of the late Greenberry & Alice Gross. Preceded in death by 2 daughters Tamara Lewis & Sharon Armstrong. Memo (Mary) is survived by her husband Dane Smith; sister Alice Nussbaum, foster brother Junior, son Orvan Armstrong, stepson Wes Armstrong. Grandchildren Shannon Armstrong, Tara Cooper, Chris & Todd Armstrong. Great-Grandchildren Gavin Payne, Justin, Tyler & Leann Armstrong. Other nieces, nephews, & other family members; & NUMEROUS FRIENDS, including her best friends June Albert & Velma Watkins. Visitation will be held at Morton Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia Fri. Sept. 25th at 11:00 A.M. 2:00 P.M., Burial to immediately follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery.
