Beattyville, KY – Stella Herald Bowman, 96, of the Lee County Care and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Booneville, KY, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2007 after a long illness. She was a homemaker and seamstress and a member of the Booneville Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Bowman was an Owsley County native, the daughter of the late Seigel and Mary White Herald, born on February 6, 1911, and the widow of Sim Bowman. She is survived by a son, Benny (& Sue) Bowman of Winchester, KY; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and sons, Conley, Ivan and Arlie Jack. Visitation was held from 12:00 noon until time of service at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home in Booneville, with Rev. Joe Powlas officiating. Burial will follow at the Shepherd Memorial Cemetery with Searcy and Strong Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Booneville Sentinel November 8, 2007.
