Mrs. Helen Schellinger, 87, died Sunday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. John P. Gales, 297 Lincoln Dr. south, West Bend, after a long illness.
The former Helen Jaeger, she was born May 31, 1871, in the Town of Ashford in Fond du Lac Count, grew up there and settled on a farm in the township after her marriage. The couple lived there for two years and then moved to Campbellsport. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Elmore, Wis., where she was a dressmaker for several years. She had lived in West Bend since 1932.
On Feb. 23, 1897, she was married to William Schill at St. Martin’s Catholic Church at Ashford. He died Feb. 18, 1896. She married Philip Schellinger Feb. 11, 1926. He died July 9, 1931.
Survivors are three children for her first marriage, six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a sister, and a brother.
A sister and three brothers preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Christian Mother Confraternity.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Schmidt Funeral Home, West Bend, and 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church. The Rev Edmund H Haen will be the celebrant and burial will be in St. Martin’s Cemetery at Ashford.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Members of the Christian Mothers’ Society at St. Francis Cabrini Church will recite the rosary at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
