Funeral services for former long-time Harrington resident Maynard P. Adams were held Friday and Saturday in Harrington. A rosary was held Friday evening at the St Francis of Assisi Church here and a mass of Christian burial service was held Saturday at the church, officiated by the Rev William L. Kelley. Interment occurred at St Francis Cemetery in Harrington. Adams, who died March 15, 1982 at the age of 49 as a 20-year resident of Harrington, was born in Davenport where he attended school. He worked for the state highway department for 20 years and had been a carpenter for such projects as the Sacred Heart Medical Center, Maple Street Bridge and the missile site at Egypt. The army veteran of the Korean War was a member of the Harrington Gun Club and the Harrington Volunteer fire Department. He is survived by his wife, a son, two daughters, a granddaughter, one brother, a sister, numerous nieces and nephews. (Davenport Times-25 March 1982)
