Died at his residence in Preston Precinct, Clarke County, W. Ty., EBERHARD SCHUH, aged 48 years.
Mr. SCHUH was born in Wirtenberg, Germany, in 1818. At 12 years of age he emigrated with his parents to this country and settled in Ohio, in Wayne County, near the town of Wooster. 6 years after he moved with his parents to Scott County, Iowa. After remaining with them 2 years he moved to Knox County, Illinois. In 1846 he was married to EVELINE KOONS, of the same county where he remained until 1853, when he moved to this Territory, where he has since lived. He leaves a widow and 7 children to mourn their loss. In the death of Mr. SCHUH his family have lost a kind husband and good father; he was an enterprising and industrious farmer, and was emphatically an excellent citizen, one of the best neighbors and the poor mans true and honest friend.

AN OLD CITIZEN GONE
Mr. EBERHARD SCHUH an old and respected citizen of this county died on Tuesday last at his residence on Mill Plain, after a protracted illness. Mr. SCHUH settled in this county at an early day and was universally respected by his neighbors and acquaintances as a man of sterling worth and integrity. The deceased was a native of Germany, but a resident a long time in western states. The funeral took place on Wednesday and was attended by a very large concourse of citizens who thus testified their respect for the good qualities of the deceased.

Eberhard enlisted as a private on March 31, 1856 for a six month period in Captain Kelly's Company of the 2nd Regiment of the Clark County Rangers. On the muster roll his age is 36, born in Germany, height 5'11", dark complexion, dark hair, grey eyes, and residence is Lackamash. He had scouting duties on the trails near Lackamash.
