GEORGETOWN, KY-Verna M. Abel, 93, formerly of York, died Saturday, March 15, 2003 at 2:17 p.m. at Georgetown Health Center. She was the wife of the late Wilbur D. Abel. Born October 3, 1909 in York County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Agnes (Boll) Gingerich. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Glen G. and Barbara Abel of Georgetown, KY; 10 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren; eight great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and daughter, Dale R. Abel and Norma Slenker. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Etzweiler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York, with Elder Larry R. Jamison officiating. Burial will be in Machpelah Cemetery. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
