Levi Anthony was born in Jackson County, Ohio, in 1825. He married Meriba Troth 4 Oct 1846 in Cedar County, Missouri. The family lived in and around Mills County, Iowa where he read medicine 1843-44, and began practice in eclectic medicine in 1849. He came to Nebraska in 1859, locating at Blue Springs in 1862. In 1866 he went to Beatrice, then to Wilber in 1870. Levi served in 1st Regiment, Nebraska Cavalry during the war of the Rebellion, and was a member of the Harker Post, No. 51, G. A. R.
