Military Working Dog Macco Z101 entered military service on July 1, 1997. After intial training at Lackland AFB in Texas, he was assigned to Barksdale AFB in Louisiana, on July 18, 1997.
After a tour of duty lasting three years and 83 days Macco was transferred to Cannon AFB in New Mexico on Sept 22, 2000.
Additionally Macco provided narcotics detection support to United States Customs on four different occasions. Furthermore macco's keen senses have assisted in several narcotic seizures across the installation deterring illegal drug use and posession.
