WILLIAM M. ALLARD
William M. Allard was born in Kansas on July 26, 1873, and departed this life at his home south of Russell, Iowa, on May 20, 1942, at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 24 days.
He was united in marriage to Anna Showers on Jan. 2, 1896, and to this union two children were born, Irvan, of Missouri and Linden, of near Russell.
About 25 years ago Mr. Allard united with the Pentecostal church at Woodland, Iowa, where the family lived at that time.
Mr. Allard was a quiet, home loving man, a kind husband and father, a good neighbor and friend and was highly esteemed by both young and old.
He leaves to mourn their loss his widow; a son, Irvan and wife of Doniphan, Mo.; a granddaughter, Roma Lee, and a great-granddaughter, Phara Lee, of Poplar, Mo.; and a son, Linden and wife who have lived their entire wedded life with Father and Mother Allard, and their children, Gwendolyn and Calvin, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the home on May 22, at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Brother Everett Hollingshead and interment was made in the Confidence cemetery. Pall bearers were Lester Lewis, Gail Reynolds, Glenn Chapman, Cyril Curtis, Howard Vincent and Lyle Reynolds. Mrs. Gail Reynolds and Mrs. Lyle Reynolds cared for the flowers.
