He was born in Meriden and was a lifelong Wallingford resident. He worked at Ahearn Properties and Ahearn Development Corp. in Wallingford.
He is survived by his parents, Eileen Desmond Ahearn and Donald R. Ahearn Sr.; two daughters, Jessica E. Cover of Richmond, Vt., and Kathryn M.D. Ahearn of Northampton, Mass.; two sons, Donald R. Ahearn III of West Tisbury, Mass., and Patrick J. Ahearn of Hamden; two sisters, Doreen Mary O'Rourke of Wallingford and Shelby Brook of Glastonbury; two brothers, Jeffrey L. Ahearn of Portland and Daniel E. Ahearn of Wallingford; and a granddaughter.
Calling hours are 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. todayat the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, followed by a Mass at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection. Burial will be in In Memoriam Cemetery, Wallingford.
