Hattie Irene Howell, 85, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010 at King's Daughters Hospital. Funeral services were Sat. at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A. L. Kelly and Rev. Jon Vanlandingham officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Mrs. Howell was born Sept. 24, 1924 in Holly Bluff to Samuel Leroy House and Ethel Rodges House. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. L. Howell; a son, James Ross Howell; a grandson, John E. McGinty Jr. and two sons-in-law, John E. McGinty Sr. and Joe Kelly Sr. Survivors include a son, Thomas Howell of Bentonia; four daughters, Joyce Kelly of Mandeville, La. and Janie Howell, Bernie McGinty, and Linda Dozier, all of Bentonia; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearera were Ryan Howell, Chuck McGinty, Keith Dozier, Scott Howell, Chad McGinty and Lee Dozier. Published in Yazoo Herald on August 18, 2010.
