GAINESBORO -- Funeral services for Sam L. Hall, 88, of Gainesboro, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 6, at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will be in John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-9 p.m. today, Sunday, Sept. 5, and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hall died Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 1, 1922, in Jackson County to the late Arthur and Nora Pharris Hall.
Mr. Hall was retired from Uniroyal Tire Co. in Michigan. He was a member of Center Grove Church of Christ.
His family includes his wife, Merlene Hall of Gainesboro (whom he married July 2, 1942); a son and daughter-in-law, Sammie and Peggy Hall of Cookeville; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Hall of Cookeville; a grandson and his wife, Jeff and Tressa Hall of Cookeville; two granddaughters and their husbands, Samantha and Stanley Anderson of Cookeville and Kelly and Kenny Anderson of Sparta; nine great-grandchildren, Jamie, Lora and Kristina Hall, Jared, Ann Marie and Sammy Anderson, Kendelyn Chilton, Kelsey Secord and Kennedy Selby; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Katherine Hall, Carlos Ray and Alberta Hall and Billy C. and Hilda Hall, all of Cookeville; and a sister, Gladys Bybee of Gainesboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Hall; two brothers, Willard and Arthur Hall Jr.; and three sisters, Betty Hall, Barbara Evans and Dorothy Poteet.
Bro. Danny Hall will officiate at the services.
