Ray Hatmaker, 66, of Mooresville, died from natural causes April 12, 1998, at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove. Born March 21, 1932 in New Market, Tennessee, he was the son of Charles Luther and Beulah May Prader Hatmaker, both deceased. He married Sylvia Ann Cox August 25, 1952. She survives. He retired in 1984 after 34 years as a yard conductor for Penn Central Railroad. He was a member of the Southport Baptist Church. Other survivors include two sons, M. Joe Hatmaker of Indianapolis, and Timothy R. Hatmaker of Mooresville; a daughter, Teresa L. McKee of Nashville [Indiana]; a brother, Frank Hatmaker of Morristown, Tennessee; three sisters, Zola L. McKee of Lexington, Kentucky, and Ann Loudermilk and Ruth Roberson, both of Jefferson City, Tennessee, and five grandchildren. The service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel in Mooresville. The Rev Phillip Myers will officiate. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and Riley Hospital Foundation.
