His parents are Frances Elizabeth Perry and Thomas Perkinson Ligon. His half-brother is J. Nickolas Ligon . His father was twice married, first to Lucy Ann Perry, and second to her sister Frances Elizabeth Perry. It is speculated that Frances and Thomas, and possibly Lucy, are buried at Sion Presbyterian Cemetery in Winnsboro, but a marker has not been found.

C. L. Ligon Died Near Great Falls
Great Falls - Jan 27— C. F. Ligon died at his home near Great Falls Saturday night, January 17, at 8:30 o'clock. He had been in ill health for about three years. He was 66 years of age.
He was a most faithful member of Bethesda Methodist church where he served as superintendent of the Sunday school for a number of years and also as a steward. He was a most patriotic citixen and devoted father.
He was laid to rest Sunday afternoon in Ebenezer cemetery by the side of his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Annie Elizabeth Jackson.
Funeral services were conducted by his pastor, the Rev. J. E. Brown. He was buried with Masonic honors of which order he was a loyal member. He is survived by the following children: L. T. Ligon of Conrord, N. C.; W. C. Ligon of Tallahassee, Fla.; N. L. of of Great Falls; Mrs. J. H. Ligon of Richburg; H. Y. and C. P. Ligon of Blackstock; Misses Julia Ligon, Maggie Ligon, Evalina Ligon of Blackstock; also J. R. Ligon of Great Falls; S. E. Ligon of Lancaster and C. L. Ligon, Jr. who served his country faithfully in France during the recent struggle. He is also survived by two brothers, J. S. Ligon of Columbia, and O. L. Ligon, of Fort Worth, Texas.
