Fannie Jane Cox was born in Sugar Hill, TN. She came with her parents and siblings to Texas in a covered wagon. One of the first persons she saw was James Richard Lucas, a fine young man. She told her sister at that time that she was going to marry that young man. And so she did, on Sept.7, 1897. They had 11 children, one of which (the youngest), was my mother.
