According to correspondence received from A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, GA in 2010, Marshall Knight Pattillo's cremated remains was buried along with forty three other persons' remains in the same plot indicated on Findagrave Memorial #58163024. Mr. Pattillo's remains were kept at the funeral home after cremation along with remains for forty three other individuals for use in the homes some how promotion of the cremation process. A health inspection of the premises by the City of Decatur, in 1996, resulted in the entire lot of forty four remains being interred in a single unmarked grave in the Melwood Cemetery on August 15, 1996. That grave is Section 2, Lot 92D, Space 2. That information was obtained from A. S. Turner and is not in the cemetery's records. A copy of the correspondence from the funeral home was given to the Cemetery Manager. There is no above ground marker available to hold the names of these forty four souls. Our family requested permission to place an alternative name plate on the site but was denied.
