Born Feb. 7, 1869, Nebraska City, Neb. to Joseph Gaskell and Jane Wilson Romney. Married Lavina E. Spillett Dec. 25, 1889, Big Cottonwood. Came to Utah, 1871. Carpenter. Helped grandfather in building St. George Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors; widow: sons, daughters, Joseph L. Romney, Mayfield, Sanpete County; Quentin Romney, Mrs. Laura Hanson, Murray; Mrs. Maude F. Flather, Corona Del Mar, Calif.; Mrs. George E. (Mary) Budd, Salt Lake City; 38 grandchildren 24 great-grandchildren.
