Elsie Pearl Evans Akins of Dalton, Ga., formerly of Tellico Plains, passed away at 8:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 2, at Hamilton Medical Center, in Dalton, Ga.
She was 93.
Preceded in death by: sons, Edward Eugene, Ralph Jr. and Joseph Floyd Akins; grandson, Marty McDaniel; parents, Larkin and Lucindy Evans; sisters, Ruth Adams and Etta Long; brothers, Leonard, Wiley, Lewis, Horace and Wanda Evans.
Survivors include: husband of 72 years-Reed Eugene Akins;
Daughters and son-in-law-Lois and Hugh Dee McDaniel of Madisonville; Edna Louise Atkins; and Wilda Gail Steward, both of Dalton;
Son and daughter-in-law-Julius and Alice Akins of Dalton;
Grandchildren and spouses-Dana and Anthony Lance, Darold and Laura Stewart, Mika Michelle Atkins, Brian and Cindy Akins, Connie Akins Branam, Elesa Gail Stewart, David and Ann Akins, Barry and Rose Akins, Edward and Charlene Akins and Keith Akins;
Eight great-grandchildren;
Six step-great-grandchildren;
Sister-Ada Stewart of Michigan;
Brothers-Avery and Jack Evans, both of Tellico Plains; and Harvey Evans of Madisonville;
Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were 2 p.m., Thursday, in Biereley-Hale Chapel. Interment was in Cane Creek Cemetery. Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, in charge of their arrangements.
