Tommie W Pickering, 82, of Hebron
Community, died Thursday, May 18,
2006 at Jones County Rest Home in
Ellisville. Visitation is 5-8 PM today at
Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel.
Rev Gary Shows and Rev Tommy Davis
will officiate.
He was a retired farmer, he served on
the Jones County School Board during
consolidation. He served on the Farm
Bureau Board, The Soil Conservation
Board, Pleasant Ridge Water Works
Board, He was a Mason and a member of
the Hebron Masonic Lodge. He served
in the US Navy during World War II. He
was a member and deacon of Hebron
Baptist Church.
Mr Pickering is survived by his: wife,
Peggy Anderson Pickering of the
Hebron Community; one son and daughter-
In-Law, J. T. and June Pickering of the
Hebron Community; daughter and son-
In-Law, Nancy and Rev. Gary Shows
of Hattiesburg; four grandchildren,
Meagan Pickering and Melissa Pickering
both of the Hebron Community, Scott
Shows of Memphis, Tenn. and
Stephanie Weathers of Hattiesburg; five
great grandchildren; brothers, Ikey
Pickering, Dewitt Pickering both of the
Hebron Community; sisters, Nell Buckley
of the Hebron Community, Elsie McQueen
of Collins and Pattie Mae Gunn of
Atlanta Ga.; and a host of nieces and
nephews.
Pallbearer will be active deacons of
Hebron Baptist Church, Honorary pall-
bearers will be the adult Mens Sunday
School Class of Hebron Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the
Hebron Baptist Church Building Fund.
