MRS. JAMES HANGS

Mrs. James HANGS passed away Tuesday morning, April 7, at 1:30 o'clock at her home west of town. While she had not been feeling well for several months, she had not been ill enough to stay in bed until about two days before her death. Her passing was a shock to her family and friends. Funeral services were held at the I. O. O. F. hall at 2:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon, with the Christian Science service read by Mrs. Elmer King. Interment was in the Steamboat Springs cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, James HANGS, and their five children, two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Katie BERGEN of Steamboat Springs, Mrs. Dollie DAVIS of Hamilton, James E. HANGS of Hamilton and Fred and Harold, who are living with their father at the home ranch. There are three grandchildren in this section, and two brothers and one sister living in Washington, and one brother in Arizona.

Mr. and Mrs. DAVE and children and Mr. and Mrs. James E. HANGS came from Hamilton for the funeral. A niece, of Mrs. HANGS, Mrs. Marie PEARSON, came from Denver Wednesday evening on the train.

Rosa HANGS was born in Toledo, Ohio, December 29, 1866. She was married to James HANGS December 29, 1883, at Seattle, Washington. With her husband she came to Routt county about 37 years ago and has made her home here since that time, living at various ranches. The present home is west of town. She was a true pioneer, manifesting the hardiness and courage needed by the pioneer women of the west. Her home was an open house. She was a devoted mother and a good friend.
