Mr. E.J. Spikes, age 85, resident of Vaiden, died Tuesday, November 1, 1994 at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a farmer and a member of Vaiden Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Etta Belle Spikes of Vaiden; his son, Bobby L. Spikes of Terry; three sisters, Mrs. Bennie Rinks of Clarksdale, Mrs. Sue Hartley of Grenada and Mrs. Noble Carlisle of Greenwood; four brothers, Clifford Spikes, Haskell Spikes and Dalton Spikes, all of Kerman, California, and Rodney Spikes of Fresno, California; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 5, at 2:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Leon Holly officiating. Burial followed in Vaiden Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Billy Joe Ferguson, Hugh Ferguson, Frank Stanton, Guy Weeks, Durward Stanton and Kirby Pender.
Oliver Funeral Home of Winona was in charge of arrangements.
