The following is Reuel Benjamin Anderson's obituary as it appeared in the FAIRPLAY FLUME on 1 January 1915:

"After suffering since last May in St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver, Ruel B. Anderson of Como died, Tuesday, Dec. 29. He was buried by the request of his friends in the Como Cemetery Thursday afternoon, Rev. Beavis of this place conducting the ceremony.

Mr. Anderson was born in Pitt County, North Carolina, 68 years ago where he spent his early life. At the age of 16 he became captain of a company of boys, all 16 years old or under, but the company was never brought into active service owing to the extreme youth of its members, although it aided the war in other ways.

He came west 43 years ago and has been a loyal citizen of Park County for the past 35 years owning a ranch near Como up until the time of his death.

He leaves a brother and two sisters to mourn his loss.

Mr. Anderson was a man well liked by all who knew him and the FLUME joins with his many friends in extending sympathy to the relatives in this sad hour of trouble."

Reuel Anderson was the son of Lawrence Richard Anderson and May Ann Joyner Anderson of Pitt County, North Carolina.
