Heber Eastman 78, died at midnight last night at a local hospital after two days' illness. Mr. Eastman was born in Okaithach, Wales June 16, 1863. He was the son of William and Anne Harris Eastman. He came to Ogden 55 years ago as a Latter-day Saint convert, and was employed as a cement finisher by various contractors in the city.
On Jan. 1, 1887, he married Miss Mary Rose of North Ogden. To them were born 13 children. She died in 1911 in Ogden.
Eighteen years ago he married Mrs. Mary Frecker in Salt Lake City and she, together with the following sons and daughters, survives him; William Eastman of salt Lake City, Arnold Eastman of Ogden, Stanley Eastman, Arthur Eastman, Marjorie Eastman and Mrs. Catherine Christensen of Los Angeles, Ruby Eastman of San Francisco, and one step-son, Andrew Frecker of Ogden. Seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive; John Eastman and Mrs. Louise Bartlett of Ogden, Mrs. Susan Arave of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, and Mrs. May Hoopes of Brigham. The body is at Larkin & Sons mortuary.
