A native of Spottswood, she was born on June 17, 1888, a daughter of the late John B. and Elizabeth McCormick Lotts. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by six daghters, Mrs. Bessie Scruggs and Mrs. Mabel Fitzgerald, both of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Margaret Wade of Waynesboro, Mrs. Helen Tanner of Crimora, Mrs. Dorothy Cox of Shawsville and Mrs Isabell Anderson of Chattahochee, Fla.; four step-sons, John W. McLear Sr. and Wallace R. McLear, both of Staunton, Earl S. McLear of Philadelphia, Pa., and Herbert A. McLear of Baltimore, Md.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Viola M. Smiley of Staunton, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Gonzalez of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Helen M. Williams of New York, N. Y.; three brothers, Howard Lotts of Spottswood, Elmer Lotts of Staunton, and Clarence Lotts of Lafayette, Ind.; one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Wheeler of Staunton; also eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Fred Henry Funeral Home. In the absence of her pastor, the service will be conducted by the Rev. C. Max Huddle. Burial will be in Old Providence Church Cemetery near Spottswood. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The body will remain at the funeral home until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday when it will be placed in the chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30 until 8:30 tonight.
