Humansville Star-Leader Obituary
Donald Edward Coberly was born November 25, 1924 at Ames, Iowa, and departed this life February 18, 1929, at the age of 4 years, 2 months, and 24 days. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Coberly. Beside the parents, he leaves to mourn his departure his two brothers, Leonard and James Coberly, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Coberly of Humansville, Mo., and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Wilson, a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many other relatives and friends.

All that loving hands could do was done, but all to no avail. It was not God’s will that he should get well; He saw fit to call home.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Humansville, February 19, 1929, and burial took place in the Humansville Cemetery.

In Memory
In loving memory of Donald Edward Coberly, who died February 18, 1929.
Donald, dear, we say adieu but not goodbye.
Your pain is over, your race is run,
Your sufferings all on earth are done,
How hard it is no one can tell,
To part with one we loved so well.
Our home, once bright and happy,
Is filled with deepest gloom,
For the one we loved so dearly,
Is laid beneath the tomb.
For when we look around the circle,
We miss his loving face.
One little chair is vacant;
No one can take his place.
Sleep, Donald, sleep your sufferings are o’er.
Sweet be thy rest so of’t needed before.
Well did we love you but God loved you best.
Thy heart, dear one, will ever be blest.
