SYX, RONALD RAY age 64 of Warrior passed away August 29, 2010. He was a member of Sumiton First Baptist Church, was a member of Brooklin Lodge # 704 F&AM, and was a retired diesel mechanic from Ryder Systems. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Ted Johnson and Rev. Earl Wright, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 pm. He was preceded in death by his parents Junior and Jewel Syx and granddaughter, Wendy Norris. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Brenda [Russell] Syx; children, Randall Scott Syx (Tammy) and Tracy Denise Norris (Scotty); grandchildren, Brittany Rae Norris (Justin Morgan), Hunter Scott Norris, Karissa Nicole Syx and Kolton Ryan Syx; great grandchild, Houston Tyler Morgan; sisters, Rebecca Roberts (Roger), Daisy Hayes (Ralph), and Phyllis Roberts (Phillip); brothers, Kenneth Syx and Glenn Syx (Jane); stepmother, Annette Syx; mother in law, Irene Dill (Junior); several nieces, nephews and friends.
