Dayrel Kay Lemmon, 68, passed away August 31, 2010 after a long struggle with complications from diabetes.

He was born July 17, 1942 to John Tenney and Henrietta Driver Lemmon. He was married Nov 6, 1964 to C. Diane Ator in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated from West High School in 1960 and attended the University of Utah.

He served a full-time mission to the Northern States Mission from 1961-1963. He served in various church callings including counselor in the bishopric. He loved to serve and teach and always had a good story to tell. He loved the Lord and had a tremendous testimony of the priesthood.

He served in the Utah Air and Army National Guards for six years. Kay was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed sports. He had a good sense of humor and a special way of providing advice to others. He spent his career in business with many years in upper management.

He leaves behind his wife, Diane; two sons, Todd (Rebecca) and Troy (Lenona); and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Thanks to the nurses and aides who assisted in his care and for the help and prayers of family, friends, and ward members. Special thanks to Kay's best friend, Jim Walker, for his many years of caring.

Friends may call on Friday September 3rd at the Millcreek 5th Ward 3805 S. Main St. from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday Sept. 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the same chapel, where friends may also call one hour prior to services. Interment at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
