Max E. Robbins, 92, of Sonoma and formerly of Pine Wood Drive, Longmeadow, Mass., died Friday in a local California hospital. He was owner of Ace Exterminating Company prior to retiring in 1971. He was born in Passaic, New Jersey and moved here in 1913. He was educated in Sonoma and played basketball for Sonoma High School. He was a long time resident of Springfield and Longmeadow area and for the past seven years resided had resided in Sonoma and Longmeadow. He was a member of the Indian Orchard Lodge of Mason; the Melha Temple Shrine; and was a former member of Temple Beth El. His wife the former Betty (Grant) Robbins died in 1989. He leaves three sons, Eugene of Enfield, Conn., David of Incline Village, Nev., and Allan of New York City, N.Y.; a brother, Philip Rashbaum of Bronx, N.Y.; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday at noon from Harold R. Ascher & Son Memorial Chapel, with burial in the Sons of Israel Cemetery in Springfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, Mass., 01104.
