Husband of Mary Relief Woolsey Wheeler, who is buried with him.

Children include: Binnie Effie Wheeler Nesbitt, Bertram Alvard Wheeler, Clayton Harry Wheeler, Ruth Lera Wheeler Walts, and Mary Irene Wheeler Jackson.

Civil War veteran. Served in Co.D. 145th Reg. PA Vol. GAR. Fought at Gettysburg and Antietam. According to family tradition Truman carried a wounded officer, Captain Hilton, off the battlefield.
