Son of John Robert Fair and Ann Mary (Winter) Fair. Married Susan Wilhelm in 1848, one son. Married Mary Jane Show 1850 in Pennsylvania. Father of Joseph Benton, William Howard, Lawrence Elmer, Lyman Beecher, Mary Enora, Robert H., Florence Jane (Jenny), George Emmett, Sarah Leonora, Frank Show and Ida May.

George Fair was born Dec. 29th, 1819 in Alleghany county, Maryland, died Dec. 2nd., 1913, aged 93 years, 11 months and 3 days.
He was united in marriage to Mary J. Show, July 24th., 1850 in Fayette county, Pennsylvania. To this union were born eleven children, seven sons and four daughters, of which nine still survive seven sons and two daughters. His wife died April 17, 1898. He had been previously married, one son being born to this union the son dying at age nineteen, the wife dying two years after their marriage.
They came to Illinois in 1862 and lived there nine years and moved to Nebraska in 1871 and lived in this immediate vicinity ever since.
He united with the Methodist church in early manhood and has remained a member until death. He was among the seven who organized the first M. E. church in this part of the country.
