He was the son of Thomas E. and Charlotte (Thomas) Earhart
and the Grandson of John Carl and Louella (ward) Thomas.
Edward Thomas Earhart, was killed when a portion of the Pentagon, was hit by one of the hijacked commerical jetliners as a result of the terrorist attack. He was a First Class Navy Petty Officer. He was stationed in the Pentagon and his job was Weather Forcaster for the Joint Chiefs of Staff,to inform them of conditions for naval exercises which affect ships and air traffic,involving aircraft carriers.He was the only military casualty from Kentucky.
