Joyce J. Ball age 85 of Clinton, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 at Mercy Living Center North.

In following Joyce's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Pape Funeral Home. A service will begin at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Joyce was born in Clinton on June 19, 1932, the daughter of Joseph and Marion (Nielsen) Marx. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1951.

Joyce married Robert "Bob" J. Ball on February 16, 1952 in Clinton. Bob passed away on July 31, 1998.

Joyce had been a member of the former St. Stephen's Lutheran Church.

She loved playing basketball with her boys and enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and knitting afghans, hats, and wash cloths.

She enjoyed bowling at the Clinton Recreation Lanes and was an avid Cubs fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Margery Johnson; and three brothers, Wayne, Russell and Lowell Marx.

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Mercy Living Center North and Genesis Hospice.
