JOURNEY'S END
William Ether Collins, son of William Henry Collins and Sophia Becker, was born in Flint Mich., Aug. 30, 1901, and passed from this life at the Decatur County Hospital, Dec. 3, 1950, at the age of 49 years, 3 months, and 3 days.

He spent his boyhood in Flint and during his eighth year was baptized and confirmed a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which church received his devoted and effective service throughout his life.

As a young man he came to Graceland and for 5 years studied in the academy and the college. It was here that he met Camilla Holben who later became his wife, their marriage taking place in Oakland, Calif., March 10, 1928. Their home was blessed with four children, Hale, Vivian, David, and Robert, all of whom with their mother survive.

Shortly after his home was established in 1928 he was ordained an Aaronic Priest, his ordination to the office of Elder followed and in 1927 he was ordained a High Priest and became District President of the Northern California District.

In 1941 the family moved to Lamoni when he accepted a position teaching in the Lamoni High School, which profession he followed to within a few weeks of his death.

In 1944 he went to Warrensburg, Mo., to complete his bachelors and masters degrees, returning again in the summer of 1950. His educational preparation enabled him to quality as superintendent of schools, in which capacity he served the last 3 years.

In addition to his immediate family, whose home is in Lamoni, he is survived by a brother Bob, of San Juan, Tex., and a stepbrother, Fred C. Hutchins, of Flint, Mich. His many friends will not forget his unselfish devotion to his church and his family.
