Leonor Aguilar, 92, passed away Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Leonor Aguilar was born Dec. 25, 1917, in Ennis to Francisca and Jesse Morales. The Greatest Mom. Our mom was the best mom a family could ask for. She was a blessing to us all from God. Our mom was a hard worker, whatever the job was she put 110 percent into it. Whether it was raising all her children, working around the house or cooking for all of us, we never did without. She made the best rice anyone ever tasted and we never forgot the Kool-Aid she made when we were kids. Most of all, her love for all of us was beyond our understanding, it had to come from God. She always made all the sporting events, whether for her children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren. We remember her sitting in the bleachers, rain or shine. She always traveled on different vacations when one of us would ask for her to go. We will never forget the picnics in the park or going to the lake. She always said, "Dios Te Vendiga," which means "God bless you." Our mother always tried to keep peace in the family and she always said she loved everyone the same. We know for a fact that our mother loved each and everyone of us. We know she is in heaven, and knowing our mother, she is rejoicing with the Lord. We were blessed and still have memories of our mom, the greatest mom. Thanks to MITS Services, Dialysis Center, Dr. Anderson and staff, hospice (Covenant Care) and Marine Creek Nursing Home and staff. Leonor was preceded in death by two sons, Jesse Powell and Lusiano Aguilar Jr.; two brothers, Jesse Morales and Ellis Morales; and two grandsons, James Reed and Billy Reed. Survivors: Children, Carmen Reed-Villarreal and husband, Sam, Frances A. Britton and husband, Nick, James E. Powell, John J. Powell and wife, Rita, Frank F. Powell and wife, Betty, Delores D. Henderson and husband, Mike, Fred D. Aguilar and wife, Janie, Sid Munoz and wife, Irene, and L. Daniel Munoz and wife, Terry; 34 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
