Ruth Esther was the daughter of John W. Vickers and Mae Davis.

Funeral services for Ruth Esther Vickers Findley, 88, Ava, will be held at 2 pm today (Thursday) at Ragan-Thiems Funeral Home. Interment will be in Thornfield Cemetery.
Mrs. Findley died Feb. 5 at Ava.
Born Jan. 3, 1903, at Springfield, she was the daughter of John Wesley and Laurence May (Davis) Vickers.
She became a Christian at the age of 18, and married Rev. J. W. Findley at Reeds Spring, Mo., on Nov. 24, 1923. She taught Sunday School in Greene County, Ozark County, North View, Hammond, Calpine, Calif., Roosevelt, Minn., and Gentryville.
She played the church piano for most of her life.
Ruth helped to get the first Head Start started in Ozark County and helped teach three years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons, several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Paul of Oregon, and David of Ava; one sister, Pauline Scott of Oregon; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
