She is survived by her husband of 53 years: Forrest Bruce; two sons: Philip Bruce and David Bruce, both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a daughter: Amy Hays, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two brothers: Jack Fant, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Bill Fant, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; a sister: Elaine Walker, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; other relatives; and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was laid to rest at Mount Harmony Cemetery in Haskell
