Billy Frank Persinger, 76, of Columbia died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at the Bluffs of Columbia.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W., with the Rev. Robert Vegiard officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at the funeral home.

Mr. Persinger was born Aug. 23, 1926, in Boone County to W.B. and Nancy Ellen Dennis Persinger.
He married Monti Ann Lawson in August of 1948, and she preceded him in death. He married Joyce E. Smith on June 1, 1963, in Columbia, and she survives.

He served with the Navy during World War II. He was employed with Stephens College for 35 years and farmed all of his life. He was a member of the Dripping Springs Christian Church.
Other survivors include five sons, William B. Persinger of Harrisburg, Thomas A. Persinger of Columbia, Ronald W. Persinger of Rocheport, Robert F. Persinger of O'Fallon and Johnny R. Persinger of Douglass, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Nancy E. Persinger; two brothers, Clarence Persinger and Granville Persinger; and a sister, Emma Roberts.

Memorials are suggested to Dripping Springs Christian Church, 2701 W. Dripping Springs Road, Columbia, Mo., 65201.
