BRITT LAHR WILLITS
Britt was the son of Lillie Anna/Lillian (Lahr) and Britt Leander Willits. His maternal grandparents were Anna & Jacob Lahr, Anna was born in Ohio and Jacob in Germany. His paternal grandparents were Maria (Shields) & Levi Perry Willits of Mercer County, IL. Maria was born in Eliza, Mercer County, IL and Levi was born in Wayne County, Indiana.

Bitt was born and raised in Iowa. On July 16, 1941 he married Gladys Scellestine Cross, daughter of Elizabeth (Robinson) and Elvin John Cross from Adams County, Iowa. They were married in Maryville, Nodaway County, Missouri. To this union was born two daughters.

Britt died in 1971 about the age of 64, he is buried in the West Fairview Cemetery in Taylor County, Iowa with his wife Gladys which he shares a stone with. Also buried in this cemetery are his parents, paternal grandparents, several Uncles, Aunt and an infant cousin.
