Emogene E. Bumpus, age 82, of Granville Road, Mount Vernon, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at her home. She was born on February 5, 1928 in Mount Vernon to the late Emory and Ethel Compton Wright. Emogene had attended the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by three sons; John (Martha) Bumpus of Centerburg, Robert (Karen) Bumpus of Centerburg and Thomas (Karen) Bumpus of Brandon, fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, two sisters, Elizabeth Parnell of Mount Vernon and Evelyn Gantt of Centerburg and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Bumpus and a sister, Elaine Walker.
Burial at Brandon Cemetery.
