Jacob Timothy Engleman was born 2 Aug 1875 (WWI Draft Registration) in Missouri (census). J. T. Engleman married Abbie Lee Robb on 2 October 1898 in Rich Hill, Bates County, Missouri (MO marriage records). Jacob, Abbie and their daughter, Christine, were living with Jacob's uncle, Madison Engleman, in Vancouver, Clark, Washington, in 1900. In 1910, Jacob's mother, Nancy Engleman, was living with the family in Vancouver, Clark County, Washington. In 1914, Jacob was the informant for his mother's Missouri death certificate. His address was given as Rich Hill, Missouri. In 1920, Jacob, Abbie, and Christine were living in Osage Township, Bates, Missouri. The family, including Christine, were living in Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Kansas, in 1930. Jacob was working as a barber at the time. Jacob "Jake" died 30 March 1934 in Benton County, Missouri. His death certificate reports his occupation as a retired merchant. In 1940, his widow and his daughter Christine Kraft were living in Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas. The 1958 Kansas, U.S., City and County Census Records, shows Abbie and Christine Engleman living in Kansas City, Kansas.

A memorial was published in the Kansas City Times (Kansas City, Missouri) 30 Mar 1935, p. 21, which reads, "In loving memory of our dear husband and father, Jacob T. Engleman, who passed away 1 year ago today, March 30, 1934. Sadly missed by wife, daughter and son-in-law" (accessed from Newspapers.com 07 Apr 2021).
