Rev Gardner was living at Rt 3 Box 207 Crockett when he passed away. He was 89 years old, married and a retired minister.

He was the son of Willis Gardner and Lucy Moore. Mrs Desdamona Fobbs was the informant on his death certificate and she gave his date of birth as November 12, 1872. Also she stated he had lived in Crockett all of his lifetime.

We find William 9 years old, on the 1880 Census living with his family:

William was a gospel preacher. He was not able to go to school due to having to help support the family. His highest ambition was to get all of his children educated. He married Adella Berry February 20,1898 in the Christian Methodist Church of the Fodice Community.

They raised there family on 56 acres in the Halls Bluff Community where they built their home.
